BRATWURST, CABBAGE, & POTATO SALAD

i.e. German for dinner. Break out the elastic waistband...




BRATWURST

Bratwurst Ingredients:
Bratwurst (or any other german sausage)
Saurkraut

Cook the Bratwurst in a covered pan or pot over medium-low heat with layer of sauerkraut over top of them.




POTATO SALAD

Potato Salad Ingredients:
Potatoes
Bacon
Green onion
Egg (hard boiled)
Sugar
Vinegar (white)




RED CABBAGE

Cabbage Ingredienst:
1/2 sml head of purple cabbage
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 cup vinegar (white)
1 tbsp bacon grease
1 cup chopped (cooked) bacon

Heat bacon grease over medium/low heat in a pot. Add shredded cabbage, stir until grease is mixed into cabbage. Add vinegar, brown sugar, and bacon pieces. Cover for a few minutes stirring occasionally. When cabbage becomes tender, lower heat and cover. Let simmer ~10min. Cabbage should be tender but not mushy. Then gorge until your passing gas all night long.



Serve with beer and whole grain mustard. Delicious, yum.
