GOBBLE A GAGGLE OF COOKIES

There was a neighborhood party this weekend and I made the first sugar cookies I've done since the wedding. It was nice to only make one batch, instead of eleven. They were a big hit, and rightly so because they're freaking awesome. :)

Again, for the recipe, please click here. I have taken to weighing out my ingredients instead of measuring, so this time I used just barely 2g of baking soda and cream of tartar. For my own future reference, the orange color was made with 50/50 yellow and super red "Spectrum" colorings plus a little Wilton brown. The leaves (red and brown) were made with only a 1/3 batch of Wilton royal icing recipe and 1/4 tsp cinnamon flavoring (could have used a little more). All of the turkey 'stripes' were done with a Wilton tip size 2, which was just the right size for the job. All icing was Jill's recipe and all the same consistency (even the ones piped). The only different icing was the leaves.

Decided to put legs on the last one and now I wish I'd added legs to all of them.
Gobble, gobble.

Also made extras of the cinnamon leaves in brown and red.
