I made my snowmen again, this time adding gray buttercream hats and, in some cases, super adorable rosy royal icing cheeks (see left). Using the royal icing for the cheeks (instead of buttercream) made them perfectly flat with the rest of the frosting. I did the same thing for ornaments on the trees, with the addition of raised, buttercream garland spinkled to look shaggy. The ornament cookies were decorated with royal icing dots and stripes, using a toothpick to make different designs. Snowflakes were iced, piped with detail, and dipped into granulated sugar or sprinkles... next year I'll have to recreate some for picture purposes. Until then, only the snowman smile remains.
The wintertime's nice with the ice and snow. The summertime's nice with a place to go. Bedtime, overtime, halftime too, but they just can't hold a candle to...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
